AVID - Relink DaVinci Resolve Footage that Won't Relink by Changing Tape Name
You have done this workflow in this wiki but footage doesn't link in AVID
This way will fix the issue but assigning a common tape name to the footage in AVID so it will re-link
You have put the .mxf exports from Resolve into the appropriate AVID MediaFiles folder You have imported the .aaf but footage doesn't relink The fix is to assign the footage and the imported clips in the timeline the same tape name Here is how Go to >Tools>Media Tool
Choose your project and the drive the .mxf footage is on
Footage appears in the Media Tool You can sort by creation date so you can see the recently exported footage easier
Make a new bin and copy the recently created Master Clip files from the media tool into a new bin
Here is an example of the Footage in the new bin that you just exported from Resolve
Select all clips in the bin that should be relinked to timeline
Go to >Clip>Modify>Modify Clip
Choose Set Timecode pulldown and choose >Set Source
Select New | |
Create a tape name (123456789) or whatever Click OK
OK | |
OK | |
OK | |
Now we need to modify the Master clips that were created when the .aaf was imported When you imported the .aaf AVID by default makes a bunch of master clips in the bin that you imported the .aaf into Here is an example bin Notice the tape name matches the source file name by default
Select all the clips but not the sequence that the .aaf made Go to >Clip>Modify>Modify Clip
Choose Set Timecode pulldown and choose >Set Source
Select the SAME tape name you created in this wiki earlier to modify the clips Click OK
OK | |
OK | |
OK | |
Next Select all the clips in the bin that we copied over into the new bin from the Media Tool These are the clips that exported from Davinci Resolve
Right click the sequence to relink and choose Relink >Managed Media
| |
If that doesn't work choose
The sequence will re-link to the Resolve Media |
