Group V Limited RHEED Oscillations
Go to the 3√ó reconstruction of the GaSb 1√ó3 surface. Skew the rotation slightly in one direction or other to get a strong RHEED specular spot
Pause growth, change the SB valve position to the desired flux at which you want to measure RHEED oscillations.
Wait until the RHEED spot intensity reaches a maximum
Open Ga shutter.
The RHEED oscillations that follow will have a longer period than the Ga induced RHEED oscillations, indicating that the growth is Sb flux limited.
Stop growth immediately after you see enough number of oscillations 10-15. growing for too long under Ga stabilized conditions will lead to Ga droplets on the surface
The 3√ó Sb stabilized reconstruction would have changed to a 1√ó Ga stabilized reconstruction, which will turn back to a 3√ó reconstruction once you stop growth.
Turn up the Sb flux to slightly greater than the stoichiometric, and let the surface anneal for 5 min.
Grow 500A of GaSb under Sb stabilized conditions to get a smooth growth front before doing any further Sb induced RHEED oscillations
