What is Assessment Timeline?
The Assessment Timeline is an excel workbook that is used by clinicians for organizing and planning a participant's assessment measures (tests and questionnaires) throughout an assessment timepoint. It is the clinician's roadmap to their participant’s assessment plan and, ultimately, becomes the permanent record of what was administered to the participant. Beyond planning for an assessment period, the Assessment Timelines are often used to reference the dates and sequences of the assessments when reviewing data and for establishing testing priorities in subsequent timepoints if the participant’s severity does not allow for the administration of the complete battery.
In sum, assessment timelines include information about:
the Assessments that need to be administered in a given timepoint. As the sessions go on, the timeline is updated to reflect the actual sequence of tests that were administered.
the dates of the Assessment sessions
the languages the sessions are conducted in
There are a few versions of the assessment timeline, each version includes assessments that are unique to that protocol across all timepoints and stimuli development procedures (if applicable):
R01_Clinician Trial LRT (Pre, Post, 6mo and 12moFU, 12moFU/OBS 1)
R01_Clinician Trial VISTA (Pre, Post, 6mo and 12moFU, 12moFU/OBS 1)
R01_Observational Trial (OBS1, OBS2)
R01_Observational_Healthy Controls (OBS1).
ARGD_LRT (Pre, Post, 6mo and 12moFU)
ARGD_VISTA (Pre, Post, 6mo and 12moFU)
The current Assessment timelines are found in the template folders for each of the arms of the study listed above and in the Repository of original templates

Structure
Assessment timelines are a simple table. Columns are sued for the a day/session. Rows indicate the following information for each day:
Date
Session #--> number of the session overall
IP/TT → In person or TeleThereapy
session type--> type of session within the timepoint (pretx1, posttx 2 etc.)
Admin->
A space for notes for items the clinician needs to keep in mind for the session (for example, send the video link, ask about headphones)
Clinician will also add here anything that needs to be completed with the participant that is not an assessment or stim development (questionnaires, questions for anamnesis, etc)
Stimuli development-> type of probe being collected during the session
Testing language-> language tests are being administered in
Assessments-> list of assessments to be administered. Must be updated at the end of the session with what was actually completed during the session.

How to prepare an Assessment Timeline
Confirm that you are using the latest version of the timeline.
On the tab for the timepoint you are planning start adding the information. It could be that you plan assessments first and then the dates. The order in which the elements are added is flexible to the planning process.
When adding assessments make sure that:
The first testing session is in the language required by the timepoint
for PreTx/OBS1 and 12moFU/OBS2 it the language assigned by the randomizer
for PostTx it is the language of phase 2, the language NOT assigned by the randomizer
for 6moFU, ideally it matches PostTx but it can be flexible
Plan for the Connected Speech sessions to be 1 week apart.
While the patients and the protocol is bilingual, sessions should be administered in one language. This means that probes and assessments should be administered in the same language by the clinician who will treat (or has treated) the participant in that language.
if a bilingual session is needed plan to include different tests for each language. If you have to administer the same test in both languages it is best it should be one that has unique stimuli (no translations).
If a bilingual session is needed, BOTH clinicians should plan to attend the session and administer the assessments that are planned for the language they are working in.
Follow the administration requirements for the following assessments:
PostTX and FU surverys need to be administered before the start of testing. If the participant does not complete it independently, plan to have a non-treating clinician join the session and administer the questionnaire in the participants dominant language.
AIQ is administered in the fist session
Between Benson Copy and Benson Recall, do not administer tests that require visual stim. Typically, clinicians will administer Digit Span, Phonological, Verbal Fluency, QAB-yes/no, QAB-repetition.
Spelling and Writing should be administered in that order, first spelling, then writing.
If possible, administer Sentence Production Simples, during an TT session before the IP session.
